Although a jury trial was set for March 25, Giles County Tax Assessor Robert Steve (Bluegill) McGill appeared before Circuit Court Judge Robert L. Jones yesterday (Monday) to enter a guilty plea to misdemeanor first offense DUI.
Waiving his right to public trial under the legal advice of his attorney, Bob Massey, McGill made no claim to innocence for the DUI charge that stemmed from an accident near Pulaski on May 27, 2009.
All but two days of McGill’s 11 months, 29 days sentence was suspended, and he was fined $350. McGill’s driver license was restricted to limit driving to Monday-Saturdays between the hours of 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m.
